Please take a while to read about me and my canine family. If I can help you in anyway to find a suitable puppy or you have genuine questions about me and my breeding plans please feel free to contact me.
I did not buy my Dogs with a view to getting into breeding - they were and still are pets foremost. I did not plan on adding dogs to make a foundation it just happened to turn out that way: that I had something that was worthy of being a good brood bitch.
I am lucky enough to have had Dobermanns in the family since 1986 and I currently live on the Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire border with 4 Dobermanns. I also own 2 delightful Chinese Cresteds and 1 Mental English Toy Terrier.
I now work from home as a Freelance Writer and I also have my own clothing label ***VINTAGE GREEN*** which I run from my workshop at home.
My first Dobermann in the 80's was a bitch called Sheena. She was a fantastic Dobe, full of character and very cheeky. She had one litter of 11 puppies in 1988, thrived at obedience, loved her walks and her best friend 'Toby' the Jack Russell but sadly she passed away in 1997 at the age of 11.
Sadly I did not have any dog for a few years due to University and career commitments.
In December 2000 my father bought 'Stella' for me. She arrived just after Xmas and I moved down to pursue my career in Fashion. Although she is nearly 8 years old she still acts like a 6 month old puppy. Her pedigree may not show several Champions (just a few) but to me this is not important - she is a wonderful girl with a superb temperament and not bad looking at all when you study her, her health test results (vWd & PHPV) are also very good (Carrier and Clear respectively).
In December 2002 (now back in Lincoln) I bought 'Storm' with the intention of showing her. Her presence in the ring was soon noticed and she went on to win 2 Reserve Best Puppy in Show (all breed open show), 1 Best in Show at just 12 months old (all breed open show - over 1200 dogs) and 1 Reserve Challenge Certificate. She was awarded her Junior Warrant and her Show Certificate of Merit at 14 months old - making her the youngest UK Dobermann to achieve the ShCM. Storm was shown at Crufts in 2004, 2005 and 2006 but due to maternal duties she was not at Crufts 2007 or 2008 - she may return at Crufts in the future.
In June 2003 'Musta' arrived from Newcastle. Unfortuneatly Musta did not take very well to the show ring - although he was shown at Crufts in 2005 - bless him. Although a challenge to own and live with Musta appears to be calming down - since he has been castrated he is a different dog and he currently lives in peace with his 6 lady friends. Despite being difficult to show Musta has been trained to advanced level in obedience. He is a wonderful man with oodles of personality and charisma, I could not imagine life without him - the house would be an empty place - due to his disike of boarding kennels and his love of the sofa I have not had a holiday since 2002 - HA HA.
In July 2005 'Storm' had her first litter. From this litter I kept 'Lyla'. Lyla has had a very successful start to her show career and was always been consistently placed. She won Best Puppy in Show at the Midland Dobermann Club Open Show in 2006 and also obtained her Junior Warrant at only 12 months old (much earlier had I attended every show) - despite being lightly shown. Like her mother Lyla has a lifetime qualification for Crufts and at Lyla's first time at Cruft's in 2007 she won TWO 1st's and ONE 2nd.
After alot of research and consideration I purchased a stunning Chinese Crested from the world famous ZUCCI Kennel. 'Lumi' is a pure white powder puff bitch and is divine. Life with the CC's (lol) is certainly more entertaining, especially as they are in charge of the Dobermanns. I love Cresteds, especially the Puffs and believe every home should have one, they are unique! Obviouslly they are totally different to a Dobermann but you are hooked once you own one - so much so that I.....
...couldnt resist and snuck another Crestie into the pack. 'Tuuli' is yet another Powder Puff (chocolate and white) and just as adorable. Both Lumi and Tuuli have had such a such a HUGE impact on my life and I am so pleased they are in the Jakarta Family.
THANK YOU to Nicky Moon for entrusting these beautiful girls into my care.
In November 2007 I opened my doors to 'Minnie' an English Toy Terrier bred by Andy Leonard and Nick Gourley and in p/ship with Andy - of the famous WITCHSTONE Kennels. Live is never ever dull with Minnie around thats for sure, smaller dogs really do make up for their size in terms of personality - she has tons of it, along with the energy - Minnie is a live wire. She is in charge of the Dobes (of course), she is always telling them off and they look away. She also has a new game of grabbing the CC's (lol) by the beard and pulling them all over the kitchen. HA HA
As you have probably gathered the (viscious) Dobies, Cresties and ETT all live together happily, they do not need to be seperated, they eat, sleep, poo and play together and the cresties can often be found 'sleeping on top' of a dobe or curled up 'in' a dobes paws. Infact I am surprised at how good the cresties are at guarding the house - I am sure they think they are now Dobermanns.
Minnie is just Minnie. Minnie has recently discovered that she can use the Dobes as part of her agility course - she lands on the back of one and stays for a few seconds before jumping onto the next piece of furniture or dobe.
I hope you enjoyed reading and learning about who we are and what our involment with dogs is.
My dogs are not a means to an end, they are family pets foremost. As I now work for myself I now show very lightly - locally and I get much more enjoyment from my dogs spending time with them at home and out on long walks in the fields, or attending training days rather than them being kept on benches, or in cars at shows for long periods of time. Not fun for any dog - not that I need convincing! Life is good and the dogs and I are happier than ever minus the circus that is dog shows.
